Jewelry crafts are but a single form of jewelry amongst the many created throughout the years. Jewelry in itself has been in existence for generations. It is the oldest kind of bodily adornment and personal decoration known to man and has been utilized since mankind first defined beauty in that way.

Jewelry in itself used to have been used for functional purposes. It was originally used primarily as a means of pinning cloth and clothing together into contingent pieces. It was once made from the use of different kinds of wood, bones, and stones. Today it has become much more decorative in nature.
